Every family deserves a biography.
Interview someone you love and record the conversations. Echoes turns them into a printed family biography, organized into chapters, reviewed by a real person, and yours to keep.
The Echoes Family Biography · $98
The stories are already there.
They surface at the kitchen table, on a drive, or in the middle of a familiar story. A childhood home. A first job. The people they loved. The choices that shaped them.
You do not need to gather a whole life at once.
Begin with one conversation.
The Echoes Family Biography · $98
You record the conversations.
Echoes makes the book.
Sit down with one person you love. Ask, listen, and let the story unfold over one or several conversations. After purchase and consent, record up to five hours in total. A phone is enough.
Send Echoes the recordings and a few photographs. We organize the story into chapters, a real person reviews the biography, and your family receives a printed book and the digital files.

Record the conversations
Sit down with one primary storyteller. Ask, listen, and follow the stories where they go. Record up to five total hours in one sitting or several.
Send what you gathered
Upload the recordings, up to ten digital photographs, and a short worksheet of names, dates, places, and relationships.
Review and receive
Echoes prepares and reviews the biography, then sends one digital proof for factual corrections. After approval, we print the book and deliver the final PDF and manuscript files.
“I wanted my future children to know them in their own voices.”
Echoes began at my grandparents’ table. Over three days, we moved through childhood, work, family, and the stories that only surfaced because we stayed in conversation. The recordings mattered. But I also wanted something my future children could open and read. Echoes exists to make that possible for more families. — Levi Eastwood, creator of Echoes

The free Echoes Legacy Interview Kit helps you prepare, record, listen well, ask better questions, and protect what you record. It is complete and useful on its own. No purchase is required.
A few practical questions.
-
Up to five total hours of eligible recordings with one primary storyteller. Recordings for the paid project are made after purchase and after the required storyteller consent and customer authorization are complete.
-
One digital proof, one factual-corrections round, one printed 6 × 9 book with a color cover and black-and-white interior, the final PDF, and customer-owned manuscript files. You may also include up to 10 photographs.
-
You receive one factual-corrections round after the digital proof. It is for correcting names, dates, places, relationships, and other factual details rather than open-ended rewriting.
-
Echoes uses an assisted editorial process to organize the usable recordings into a first-person biography, then a real person reviews the work before you see the proof.
-
Not necessarily. The biography reflects the usable material provided. It may be up to about 25,000 words and 100 interior pages, but those are maximums, not promises, and Echoes does not promise a complete or definitive account of a life.
Prefer Echoes to lead the interviews?
Echoes accepts a limited number of Signature Biography projects for families who want us to plan and conduct the conversations and provide a deeper, more hands-on editorial experience.
Record the stories only they can tell.
The conversation is the experience. The biography is what your family keeps.
