Using Echoes

These terms apply when you use echoes-legacy.com, request the free Legacy Interview Kit, or purchase an Echoes biography. By making a purchase, you agree to these terms.

The Family Biography

The Echoes Family Biography costs $98, paid in full. It is prepared from recordings of one primary storyteller, up to five total hours, with up to 10 digital photographs.

The finished work may include approximately 8 to 12 chapters, up to approximately 25,000 words, and up to approximately 100 interior pages. These are ceilings, not guaranteed lengths. The biography reflects the stories and materials supplied and is not promised as a complete or definitive account of a life.

What Echoes provides

• An assisted editorial process with human quality review
• One digital proof and one factual-corrections round
• One printed 6 by 9 book with a color cover and black-and-white interior
• A final PDF and customer-owned manuscript files

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing usable recordings and photographs, accurate family details, and any permissions needed for the materials you submit. The primary storyteller must understand and consent to participating. Do not submit material you do not have the right to use.

Proof and corrections

The included corrections round covers names, dates, places, relationships, obvious transcription errors, typographical errors, and requested removals. New stories, new photographs, broad stylistic rewriting, and additional revision rounds are not included in the $98 offer.

Printing and shipping

The Family Biography includes one printed book. Standard shipping is limited to U.S. addresses and is charged at $6.95 per order. Any applicable tax is shown at checkout. Additional copies or upgraded printing are not included unless separately agreed in writing.

Cancellations and refunds

A full refund is available if you cancel before transcription or editorial work begins. After work begins and before the digital proof is delivered, refund requests are reviewed case by case based on work already completed. After the proof is delivered, the purchase is nonrefundable.

Ownership and public use

You own the final manuscript files, PDF, and printed book delivered for your project. Echoes will not publish, sell, or use your family story publicly without separate written permission.

Timing and availability

Project timing depends on the condition and completeness of the materials supplied. Echoes may pause a project when recordings are unusable, permissions are unclear, or the storyteller cannot meaningfully consent. Echoes does not promise a specific delivery date unless confirmed in writing.
